'Majority of Mainers would vote for marriage equality' and other Wednesday midday news briefs

VIDEO: Maryland Equality Advocates Reach Out To Black Voters - Good move in their part:

In other news:

POLL: 57 Percent Of Mainers Would Vote For Marriage Equality - Good news for now but remember this is BEFORE NOM's Frank Schubert pushes that "gay marriage will harm children" lie. Don't lose the momentum.

Fischer: Gays are Driven by a 'Dark, Venomous, Demonic Hatred' - I think we can all agree that Bryan Fischer is a couple of fries short of a Happy Meal.

NOM, ActRight become *even more* extreme; meet Dr. Laurence White - Just in case you are wondering how low NOM can stoop . . .

Priest in lesbian communion controversy no longer works with DC archdiocese - Sorry to sound so harsh but good riddance.

I think someone went comment browsing on Good As You, regard a certain post on Ficher having an unhealthy obsession with a restroom sign at a Home Depot.

Regarding Bryan Fischer, I think he, more than any other so-called 'conservative Christian', embodies the old adage about projecting our own sins onto others to deflect attention.

How anyone gives him any credit at all is proof of how low Christianity has sunk, and gives credence to the recent study that showed that being 'born again' causes the brain to cease working properly.

Back in June, we held a rally in Western Maryland supporting marriage equality. The event, named Hagerstown Hopes, raised awareness amongst LGBTQ supporters. The majority of the attendees were heterosexual and pledged time, money, and efforts to Marylanders for Marriage Equality.

Among those in attendance were three protestors who claimed to be "inspired" by "the YouTube machine" by "those sensible NOM folks".

The biggest issue we've found in the Conservative Western Maryland counties is the number of people who buy NOM's talking points hook, line, and sinker. No matter how much we disprove the claims, the believers will believe.

It's worse when those being impacted are the children. Those same children NOM claims to be protecting from the "gay".
